Side effects | Lisinopril

Side effects

Lisinopril, like all ACE inhibitors, slows down the breakdown of inflammatory mediators. This can result in inflammation of the skin or edema, for example. It is important in this context to pay attention at the beginning of the intake to whether a dry, unproductive cough occurs in the first few days, as this can be a sign of an inflammation of the respiratory tract and in some cases can lead to swelling and obstruction of the airways. Furthermore, excessive blood pressure lowering can lead to dizziness and fatigue, symptoms that also occur when blood pressure is too low. Lisinopril may also cause kidney dysfunction.

Interactions

Lisinopril is a good antihypertensive drug from the group of ACE inhibitors, which are currently the first choice in high blood pressure therapy. The blood pressure is lowered by an intervention in the RAAS. It is important when taking it to observe at the beginning whether an unproductive irritable cough occurs, as this is a sign of side effects. Furthermore, when taking other medications attention should be paid to interactions.
