An allergy is defined as an excessive reaction of the immune system to foreign substances. It usually manifests itself through local symptoms with itching, oedema or redness. Systemic use of lidocaine can lead to reactions involving the mucous membranes, respiratory tract, cardiovascular system and even allergic shock. All medicines that serve to eliminate or alleviate diseases, ailments, physical damage or pathological complaints are subject to pharmacy. Many over-the-counter medicines require a pharmacy. These include ointments containing lidocaine, for example. This means that you can buy these ointments without a prescription.
