Side effects | Posiformin® 2% eye ointment

Side effects

The most common side effect of Posiformin® 2% Eye Ointment is a temporary visual impairment. Due to the special composition of the eye ointment, an ointment film initially remains on the eye, which prevents sharp vision for a short period of time. Therefore, no machines should be operated immediately after application of Posiformin® 2% Eye Ointment.

Driving a car should also be avoided for some time, as the deterioration in vision also reduces the ability to react. Other side effects include allergic reactions to one or more components of Posiformin® 2% Eye Ointment. Hypersensitivity reactions may also occur.

An allergy or hypersensitivity can be manifested by symptoms such as increased eye itching or redness and swelling of the eye. The blood circulation of the conjunctiva may also be increased. If a proper allergic reaction occurs, the face may also be reddened and swollen.

Since hardly any of the active ingredient penetrates the body, a severe allergic reaction with allergic shock is very rare. Usually the allergy is limited to local symptoms. In addition, an inflammation of the skin can result from contact with the ingredient wool wax.

This can also manifest itself by redness and swelling, but also by pain and small red pustules. As a rule, a short-term overdose of Posiformin® 2% eye ointment does not increase the risk. Thus, a single overdose or too many applications of the eye ointment on a single day does not lead to a dangerous overdose.

Interactions

Interactions of Posiformin® 2% eye ointment with other drugs are not known and have therefore not been investigated in detail so far. In general, it is recommended to apply the eye ointment at least 15 minutes after other applications on the eye. This applies especially to eye drops and other eye ointments.

Due to the individual ingredients, the substances may otherwise react with each other. When using several eye products, it is recommended to use the eye drops first and then (with an appropriate time interval) the eye ointment. In addition, the eyes should not be washed or rinsed shortly after using the Posifomin® 2% eye ointment, otherwise the active ingredient will be washed out of the eye again.
