Side effects

As with all medicines, Ranitic® can cause side effects. Overall, however, the drug is considered to be well tolerated. The most common side effects reported are those that affect the acute state of health.

These include frequent fatigue, nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, constipation and skin rash. Occasionally, liver values in the blood count may also change. Rare side effects include blurred vision, acute pancreatitis, itching, joint pain, muscle aches and hepatitis.

Some patients have also been diagnosed with erythema multiforme, a special form of skin rash. Very rarely, i.e. less than one treated person in 10,000, severe hypersensitivity reactions, hallucinations, depression, headaches, movement disorders, hair loss, kidney inflammation, cardiac arrhythmia and loss of libido can occur.
