Side effects

In general, Voltaren dolo® is well tolerated and, due to its relatively low dosage, causes fewer or less severe side effects than other Voltaren® products. However, these side effects are not excluded when using Voltaren dolo®. The most common side effects are disorders of the central nervous system (CNS), which can manifest themselves as dizziness, headaches, fatigue, drowsiness or unusual irritability.

Therefore, it is advisable not to actively participate in road traffic or operate heavy machinery immediately after taking Voltaren dolo®. Gastrointestinal complaints are also relatively common. These include, among others: If these or any other side effects are noticed, a doctor should be informed, who can then help the patient decide whether or not to continue taking the medication.

Voltaren dolo® liquid also exists. This differs from the Voltaren dolo® liquid described above in that it has the form of a liquid capsule.The active ingredient diclofenac is therefore already present in the interior of the capsule in a liquid state, which means that it can be absorbed by the body more quickly and therefore also has a faster pain-relieving effect than the normal Voltaren dolo®. Otherwise, the two products are similar in their mode of action and also in their application area and side effect profile.

Is Voltaren Emulgen® prescription/prescription-only?

Voltaren® Emulgel is available only on prescription. However, it does not differ from the ingredients of Voltaren® Pain Gel, which is available without a prescription. If pain is present, however, it makes sense to have causes identified. In addition, drug and non-drug interventions should be discussed with a physician. Therefore a visit to a doctor is often recommended.

Voltaren dolo® during pregnancy

As soon as a pregnancy is known, Voltaren dolo® should not be taken. In the last third of the pregnancy it is strongly discouraged to take the drug. It can cause damage to the unborn child.

Heart and kidney damage may occur. Furthermore, an embryonic vascular connection, the so-called Ductus arteriosus Botalli, can be closed prematurely. Moreover, the birth may be delayed. During birth, the expectant mother may lose more blood if she were to take Voltaren dolo®.
