Dosage forms of Silicea

A frequent application of Silicea is to regain the elasticity of the skin or to tighten and firm it. But also for the treatment of corns, inflammation of the skin or nail bed or poor wound healing, an external application of Silicea can be considered. A frequent form of administration of this Schüssler salt is therefore the direct application on the skin by means of an ointment, a balm or a gel.

A gel usually has a higher water content than an ointment or balsam. It can therefore have a cooling and refreshing effect on the skin. An ointment or balsam, on the other hand, usually contains oily substances as well as substances that can support the healing of the skin.

Which dosage form is chosen for the application of this Schüssler salt depends on the skin type as well as on the preferences of the affected person. In fact, globules are probably the most common form of administration of single homeopathic remedies. Although Silicea is one of the functional remedies that are normally used in relatively high doses, it is used rather cautiously. This is due to the fact that Silicea has a long-lasting effect.

Therefore, if Silicea globules are taken, a lower potency should be chosen, for example D6 or D12. If the symptoms are very acute and severe, potency D30 can also be chosen as an exception. Usually between three and five globules are taken two or three times a day.

However, a dosage adapted to the affected person and the respective symptoms should be taken under the advice of a suitably trained specialist. Schüssler Salt No. 11 is also used for middle ear infections. You can find out everything about this topic at:
