Skin smoothing of the neck

A skin smoothing in the neck area consists of two individual steps. At the beginning of the surgical procedure, liposuction is performed, followed by the removal of excess skin tissue. In some cases, an ideal result can be achieved by a mere liposuction without any further surgical measures. However, if the findings are pronounced, it is necessary to perform a more extensive operation. As a rule, the entire operation can be performed under local anesthesia; anesthesia is only necessary in individual cases.

Skin smoothing of the abdomen

For skin smoothing of the abdomen, an incision is made between the navel and the border of the pubic hair. The excess skin and the underlying subcutaneous and fatty tissue can then be completely removed. Afterwards, the navel can be repositioned in such a way that an ideal, aesthetic overall appearance is achieved. In the last step, the treating plastic surgeon tightens the remaining skin areas and performs a fine skin suture. In this way, scarring is reduced as far as possible.

Risks

Since skin smoothing is a surgical procedure, the risks are the same as for any other operation. Infections and wound healing disorders can occur in the area of the surgical site. In addition, there is a risk of secondary bleeding after the surgical procedure.

Furthermore, in the course of skin smoothing, even the smallest nerve fibers located in the area of the skin and underlying tissue can be damaged. In such a case there is a chance that the damage will heal completely. However, some patients may experience permanent loss of sensation in the area of the surgical site. Most patients speak of only slight to moderate pain and an intense feeling of tension immediately after skin smoothing. The intake of light painkillers is usually completely sufficient to achieve an eyelid.

Costs

Skin smoothing is one of the plastic, aesthetic operations. For this reason, skin smoothing is not covered by either statutory or private health insurance. The costs for skin smoothing vary extremely widely within Germany, but the exact amount depends on the initial condition, the desired result and the chosen surgical method.

Although in many cases skin smoothing can be performed under local anesthesia without induction of anesthesia, some patients still choose to use general anesthesia, which involves additional costs. On average, 1000 to 2000 Euros are required for this type of sedation. The price of a skin tightening in Germany is about 1500 to 6500 Euro.

The main part of these costs is not the performance of the actual lifting, but mainly the postoperative monitoring and the subsequent stay in the clinic. As a rule, the necessary preliminary examinations, the consultation and all necessary check-ups are covered by these costs.
