Small Intestinal Mulcus

Ulcer in the small intestine (usually in the duodenum) with defects in the mucous membrane of the intestine Abdominal pain, especially in the right upper abdomen, which is fasting and particularly strong at night and decreases with food intake.Diagnosis by gastrointestinal endoscopy Therapy: Acid blocker, change of diet (no roasting substances, no spicy food), smoking cessation

  • Ulcer in the small intestine (usually in the duodenum) with defects in the mucosa of the intestine
  • Abdominal pains, especially in the right upper abdomen, which are particularly severe on an empty stomach and at night and decrease with food intake.
  • Diagnosis by gastrointestinal endoscopy
  • Therapy: Acid blocker, dietary changes (no roasting substances, no spicy foods), smoking cessation
  • Complications: Bleeding from the mucous membrane defect, perforation of the stomach wall with emptying of the stomach contents into the abdominal cavity

Liver disease

z. e.g. inflammation (hepatitis), thrombosis (blood clot) or swelling due to blood congestion (e.g. in heart disease) increase in abdominal girth, possibly yellowing of the skin, loss of appetite, etc. Diagnosis by increased liver values in the blood (liver enzymes, bilirubin), ultrasound examination of the abdomen, possibly collection of samples of liver tissue for microscopic examination.

Therapy: Depending on the cause, liver diseases can be treated with medication. Sometimes, however, surgical or minimally invasive interventions are necessary.

  • Z.

  • Increase in abdominal circumference, possible yellowing of the skin, loss of appetite, etc.
  • Diagnosis by elevated liver values in the blood (liver enzymes, bilirubin), ultrasound examination of the abdomen, possibly obtaining samples of liver tissue for microscopic examination.
  • Therapy: Depending on the cause, liver diseases can be treated with medication. Sometimes, however, surgical or minimally invasive interventions are necessary.
  • Complications: Liver coma due to accumulation of toxins that are normally broken down by the liver.
