After nine months of psychotherapy, the group of those treated with cognitive behavioral therapy showed clear signs of healing in 60% of patients; the group of those treated with the so-called psychodynamic therapy showed clear signs of treatment in 52% of patients. The control group was patients who had been on a waiting list for six months; they showed signs of healing in 15% of cases. Conclusion: psychotherapies are very effective for this indication. It is noteworthy that the improvement continues for two years after treatment.
