Spondylosis: Lab Test

The diagnosis of spondylosis is made on the basis of the medical history, physical examination, and medical device diagnostics.

2nd order laboratory parameters – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, etc. – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Small blood count
  • Differential blood count
  • Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate).
  • Rheumatism diagnostics – CRP or BSG; rheumatoid factor* (RF), CCP-AK (cyclic citrulline peptide antibodies), ANA (antinuclear antibodies).

Notice. A positive rheumatoid factor is found in:

  • Zunehemdem age in healthy people up to 20%.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis in 70-90 %
  • Lupus erythematosus in 10-35 %
  • Sjögren’s syndrome 70-95 %
  • Mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) 50-60 %
  • Chronic liver disease up to 70%
  • Infections, neoplasms
