Stimulate metabolism

Introduction

There are many different metabolic pathways in the body. Colloquially called metabolism, however, is the energy or fat metabolism. The energy that our body needs to perform all the different functions is obtained from food.

A balanced diet that contains the right amount of carbohydrates, fats and proteins is therefore very important for a fully functional body. The food taken in by the body passes from the intestines into the bloodstream, from where it is transported to the respective organs, which can utilize it, i.e. break it down. The individual components are broken down into small building blocks and finally energy is extracted from them.

How can I stimulate the metabolism?

At the beginning, the question arises how best to stimulate the metabolism. Nutrition, sport and lifestyle are particularly important. A relatively easy factor to influence the metabolism is nutrition.

Sooner or later, everything we ingest is utilized and used or excreted by the body’s own metabolism. The metabolism only functions optimally if all the necessary substances are available in the body. There are nutritional measures that can stimulate the metabolism.

Above all, a sufficient fluid intake is important. It is recommended to drink 1.5-2 L of water daily. If one wants to stimulate the metabolism, up to 3 L can be drunk.

Instead of water, light spritzers or unsweetened tea are also recommended. Sweetened drinks or alcohol should clearly be avoided. When eating, care should be taken to ensure that as much fresh fruit and vegetables as possible are on the menu.

Instead of ready-to-eat products and white bread, care should be taken when consuming carbohydrates to use wholefood products. These foods are longer-lasting and stimulate intestinal activity. Another major pillar on how to stimulate the metabolism is physical activity.

Endurance sports and strength training are particularly suitable for this. In addition to nutrition and sport, general living habits are also important for stimulating the metabolism. Sufficient sleep of 7-8 hours and the avoidance of stress have a positive effect on the metabolism.
