Stretch marks on the buttocks | Stretch marks – How to remove them?

Stretch marks on the buttocks

Stretch marks can also appear on the bottom. During a pregnancy, the skin is stretched in this area as well due to the natural weight gain. Other mechanisms are also responsible for stretch marks during pregnancy.Unfortunately these also affect thighs and bottom.

Outside of pregnancy, strong weight fluctuations are mainly responsible for stretch marks on the bottom. Bodybuilding also plays a role in the development of stretch marks on the buttocks. A strong growth of the muscles in this area – as is often desired – often leads to stretch marks.

If stretch marks itch during pregnancy, various causes can be hidden behind them. Unfortunately, itching is not too rare a symptom and many women are affected by it. Behind the itching can be a so-called pregnancy dermatosis, a skin disease.

There are different types of pregnancy dermatosis, which are treated differently. However, itching can also have a completely different cause, which is why the cause and treatment should always be clarified with a doctor. In many cases no clear cause can be assigned, so that a purely symptomatic treatment with oils and soothing creams is carried out. Since itching is a very unspecific symptom that often occurs during pregnancy even without a tangible cause, many women feel a certain frustration, especially if there is no improvement. However, one consolation remains – after delivery the itching often improves abruptly.

Diagnosis

A pregnant woman usually makes the “diagnosis” of stretch marks herself on the basis of the characteristic narrow reddish-blue stripes, although a doctor or midwife can of course be consulted if in doubt.

How can stretch marks be removed?

Stretch marks, also called stretch marks, are a stressful and often unpleasant topic for many people. There is therefore a great demand for various methods of removing stretch marks. But how can stretch marks be removed and which methods really help?

The following section is intended to provide an overview of different methods for removing stretch marks. One possibility is laser treatment. This should be carried out in experienced skin clinics and dermatological practices and is one way to effectively treat stretch marks.

However, the expected result is not a complete removal of the stretch marks, but an optical improvement. The stripes are reduced to a minimum, but a complete removal is almost never possible. Nevertheless, the result can be optically very satisfactory.

Often a so-called Fraxel laser is used. This laser does not treat a two-dimensional piece of skin, but hits many small treatment points between which untreated pieces of skin lie. This results in a quick healing, a low swelling and a very slight redness after the treatment.

The skin is still slightly reddened about one week after the treatment, but no complaints occur. A general anaesthetic is also not necessary. The laser weakens the scars of the stretch marks and makes them fade.

It also stimulates the formation of new collagen, so that the skin looks firmer and healthier overall. But one session is not enough. Depending on the nature of the skin and the severity of the stretch marks, 3 to 8 sessions are usually necessary for a satisfactory result.

The sessions take place at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks. Per session, patients will incur costs of approximately 75 to 100 Euros. Micro-needling offers another option to combat stretch marks.

This relatively new treatment method sounds painful at first, although it is not. A cylindrical needle device is used to treat the skin in the affected areas. Before the treatment, a local anaesthetic is applied with a cream, so that the treatment is almost painless.

In addition, ointments with skin-tightening ingredients are applied to the skin. Then the skin is treated with the needle roller. The tiny stitches stimulate blood circulation, regeneration and cell renewal.

In addition, hyaluron and collagen are produced. Stretch marks become flatter and narrower, the skin appears altogether firmer and plumper. In addition, the color of the stretch marks again adapts more to the natural skin color.

Similar to a laser treatment, micro-needling does not require a single session. About 2 to 5 sessions are necessary at intervals of 4 weeks each to achieve a satisfactory result.Up to 4 months after a completed treatment, there are still reactions in the stretch marks, so only then can the final result be assessed. The costs for one session can be between 80 and 450 Euros, depending on the complexity of the treatment.

A few days after the treatment, redness and bruising may be present. To avoid hyperpigmentation of the treated skin areas, the sun should be avoided for at least a week. Another method available is microdermabrasion, a relatively new procedure that is also used to remove stretch marks.

The affected skin is sucked in with a special nozzle. At the same time, very fine crystals are applied to the skin, which gently remove the uppermost skin layer. The effectiveness of this treatment lies in the fact that by removing the top layer of skin, the skin contains an incentive to renew itself.

As a result, new cells are formed to replace the old material. Gradually, the stretch marks adapt to the surrounding skin. The treatment takes about 30 to 60 minutes and must be repeated about 4 to 6 times to achieve satisfactory results.

An interval of about 4 weeks should be kept between two sessions. The cost per session is about 80 to 150 Euros. Furthermore, there is a large number of scar care oils, nourishing creams and lotions.

Although these are gentle and much less cost-intensive than laser treatment, one must unfortunately remain realistic with regard to the expected result. Such products cannot make stretch marks disappear, although this is often communicated by manufacturers. They are more suitable for prevention.

Once the stretch marks are there, most products do not have much effect. A widespread – and also quite sensible – tip against stretch marks is to use oil. But which oil is meant by this and how should one use it?

Suitable skin oils, which contain mainly vitamin E, can be purchased in almost every pharmacy. If used correctly, they help to prevent stretch marks. However, once the stretch marks are there, they can hardly contribute to an improvement.

Therefore it is important to start with prophylaxis at the beginning of pregnancy. The skin oils should be massaged daily into the problem areas, i.e. belly, breasts and thighs. A plucking massage is recommended.

Also ingredients such as ivy, lady’s mantle and horsetail have shown positive effects in the prevention of stretch marks. It is best to consult a pharmacist about suitable products. Do not buy expensive products from the Internet that promise you a kind of miracle cure.

Unfortunately, you have to remain realistic. Skin oils cannot make stretch marks disappear, no matter what kind of ingredients they contain. This is because they cannot penetrate so deeply into the skin to achieve the desired effect. However, there is a preventive effect.
