Summary

The ECG is a simple, fast and non-invasive way to diagnose serious and life-threatening diseases. Especially cardiac arrhythmias and heart attacks can be detected easily and quickly by means of the ECG and the suspicion of these diseases always leads to the derivation of an ECG. However, since the ECG can also quickly and easily rule out possible cardiac causes of symptoms, an ECG is now derived in almost every patient. Since no complex technology is required, an ECG is easy to transport and can therefore also be derived on site, for example to directly detect a possible heart attack. However, due to the very diverse and distinct diagnostic possibilities of an ECG, it is all the more difficult to interpret it correctly and to correctly recognize the many different norm deviations.
