Summary | Mobilization exercises from physiotherapy

Summary

There is a variety of mobilization exercises for every joint of our body. In general it can be said that joint mobility can be maintained and improved by making full use of the joint space. Movement does our joints good by improving the supply of the structures.

In the case of muscular tension that can restrict joint mobility, stretching exercises should be included in the mobilization program. If joint mobility has been lost due to a lack of strength to assume a certain position, the muscles in question should be strengthened. It is important to maintain the fullest possible joint mobility in all joints, because if a joint has lost mobility, other structures have to compensate for this deficit and are therefore under increased stress. In addition to active movement and stretching exercises, the mobilizing exercise program can be supplemented in physiotherapeutic treatment by passive stretching or mobilizing soft tissue and joint techniques.
