Summary | Physiotherapy for a stroke

Summary

The symptoms after a stroke can vary greatly from individual to individual, with half-side paralysis of one half of the body (arm and leg) often occurring. Depending on the severity and localization of the circulatory disturbance in the brain, various accompanying symptoms such as speech disorders, visual disturbances and later spasticity can occur. The aim of physiotherapy is to reintegrate the patient into his everyday life and to achieve as much independence as possible. For this purpose, normal movement sequences are trained and disturbances in muscle tension (spasticity, flaccid paralysis) are treated.
