Summary | Physiotherapy for nerve root compression in thoracic spine

Summary

Nerve root compression is usually the result of degenerative changes in the vertebral bodies and intervertebral discs. Traumatic causes are primarily rather rare, but are caused by previous aging processes. The range of symptoms is very wide, from mild symptoms such as numbness in the fingers to paralysis of extremities or digestive problems and incontinence.

An exact anamnesis and differential diagnosis is therefore a prerequisite for an adequate treatment of nerve root compression. In any case, early treatment can prevent serious consequential damage.
