Summary | Physiotherapy for pain in the thoracic spine

Summary

There are a variety of causes for pain in BWS. Before an adequate treatment an exact diagnosis should be made. Postural training, mobilization, soft tissue techniques and, above all, an active exercise program can alleviate pain in BWS.

It is especially important to train the erection, as it is often limited by our one-sided posture in everyday life (mostly preventative) and thus leads to one-sided overloading of the spine and surrounding structures. Initially, pain in BWS often manifests itself in the form of muscle tension. If there are problems starting from the rib joints, breathing may also be restricted. In the case of chronic complaints, a restriction of mobility or poor posture can be impressive.
