Summary | Water gymnastics

Summary

Water gymnastics makes it possible to reduce stress on joints, discs, bones and other structures involved. This is crucial, since certain diseases such as osteoporosis, rheumatism, ankylosing spondylitis, intervertebral disc lesions, knee TEPs, hip TEPs, muscle atrophies and many more may not allow normal training on land. In addition, the water buoyancy and water resistance can also be used to intensify special exercises and thus achieve a stronger training effect.

Even “healthy” people often use “aqua fitness programs” to train their personal fitness. Hotels in vacation countries often offer corresponding aqua gymnastics courses. A further advantage of water gymnastics is the group dynamics, which is created by the number of participants in the courses.

This usually leads to an increase in the motivation of the participants and thus to a sense of achievement, which in turn can accelerate the healing process. All in all, water gymnastics can and should be used by those affected as a means of prevention or rehabilitation. Another incentive is certainly the support of the public health insurance companies, since not all costs have to be covered by the patient himself.
