Sweet Clover: Dosage

Sweet clover is offered in the form of dry or liquid extracts in the group of vein and hemorrhoid therapeutics. The drug is available, for example, as capsules and tonics, and for rectal use also as ointments and suppositories. No tea preparations currently exist commercially.

The mean daily dose of 3 to a maximum of 30 mg coumarin should not be exceeded.

To prepare a sweet clover tea, 1-2 teaspoons of the finely chopped drug are poured over boiling water and after 5-10 minutes passed through a tea strainer. For diseases of the venous system, 2-3 cups can be drunk daily.

It should be noted that tea preparation is not recommended today due to the side effects.

  • Although it is possible to make your own tea from sweet clover, it is not recommended due to the coumarin content, which varies from delivery to delivery. Therefore, the intake of finished preparations with standardized coumarin content should be resorted to.
  • Rockweed should be stored dry and protected from light.
