Even after the birth of the child – as in pregnancy – swelling of arms and legs can occur. In order to keep this swelling in check, support stockings can be worn, and a lot of exercise and regular elevation of the legs is also important. The swelling usually goes down on its own after some time.

Swollen legs after sports

A swelling of one or both legs after exercise in no normal appearance. Normally such swelling should not occur after sports activity. However, swelling can occur after exercise if an injury or overstrain has occurred.

The swollen area should then be cooled, elevated and protected. If the swelling persists over a longer period of time or if the swollen area is painful, a doctor should be consulted.
