Tap the lumbar spine (lumbar spine)

Taping of herniated discs in the lumbar spine is performed with four tape strips. These can be rounded at the corners, which makes them more comfortable to wear and ensures better durability. The patient bends forward to apply the tape strips so that the back has a rounded shape.

The first strip is applied lengthwise along the spine. The first strip thus runs directly along the spine. The ends are only loosely spread out.

The next strip is applied at right angles to the first strip. This strip is also applied with maximum tension and should be directly above the painful point. The last two strips are applied diagonally to the strips already glued on, so that a star is formed.

The strips can still be pressed on well so that they hold well. The patient can then stand upright again. The strips then form clear wrinkles, which shows that they adapt to the shape and movement and are glued on correctly.

The tapes support the muscles and also keep them relaxed. Especially in case of a herniated disc in the lumbar spine area, this counteracts a relieving posture due to the pain. In addition, the patient remains mobile and movements are supported.
