Tearing eyes

Tearing, itchy and reddened eyes are frequently encountered as a symptom in the context of a house dust allergy. In this context, physicians also speak of allergic conjunctivitis or conjunctivitis. Like the other typical house dust symptoms, the complaints of the eyes are particularly pronounced in the morning or night hours. This has to do sometimes with the fact that mattresses generally represent a particularly popular place of residence for the symptom-causing house dust mites.

Cough

The house dust allergy can present itself with a cough. Frequently the allergy is then already extended and the cough is reference point for an already existing or developing allergic asthma. The cough symptomatology often goes in the context of an allergic asthma also with breathlessness and a tightness feeling in the chest.

Allergic asthma can also develop in the context of an allergy to house dust. In this case, the so-called “floor change” occurs, meaning that the existing allergy develops into allergic asthma. With asthma, it is mainly the bronchial tubes, i.e. the air-conducting paths of the lungs, that are affected.

These are inflammatory changes caused by the allergy and lead to coughing attacks, shortness of breath and a feeling of pressure in the chest. These symptoms are very often described by those affected as very stressful and usually require medication. or This is how asthma is treated!

Hoarseness

Hoarseness can manifest itself in a house dust allergy. However, it also belongs to the typical cold-like symptoms, which is why a flu-like infection should be considered when it first occurs. With over weeks or months existing hoarseness, which occurs together with other house dust allergy symptoms such as reddened eyes, cough or a running nose, a (house dust) allergy is again probable and should be clarified best by a physician.

Tiredness

Tiredness often occurs with house dust allergies. One of the causes of fatigue is the tormenting allergic symptoms, which are particularly likely to appear at night or in the early morning, leading to a lack of sleep.Further it can come by the income of certain medicines, which are prescribed gladly with allergies, so-called Antihistaminika, to tiredness symptoms.
