Tension Headache: Test and Diagnosis

Tension headache is diagnosed on the basis of history and physical examination.

2nd order laboratory parameters – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, etc. – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) – to exclude systemic inflammation.
  • Interleukin-6 – to exclude systemic inflammation.
