The Bach flower Chicory

Description of the flower Chicory

The undemanding plant grows wild in fields, gravel soils, along roadsides. The blue, star-shaped flowers are very sensitive and wilt immediately after picking.

State of Mind

One is a possessive personality who interferes and tries to manipulate other people. One is overly concerned about the welfare of other people. One expects all the attention in return and reigns with self-pity should the environment refuse.

Peculiarity Children

Children in chicory state always want to be the centre of attention and demand the undivided attention of their parents. Some “cling” and do not want to be left alone and play alone. Piercing cries of protest can often be heard. The children are easily offended when it’s not up to their heads, with other children they try to make themselves indispensable by, for example, lending toys, having them copied. They are convinced of their opinion, like to interfere in other people’s affairs, appear self-confident.

Pronouncement adults

People in the chicory state have a strong expectation, helpful people are ready to impose their good deeds on others. One organizes, criticizes, directs and directs, but woe betide all this is not gratefully accepted. Chicory people are often “super-mothers” who are constantly concerned about the affairs and welfare of their family.

This behaviour is not selfless, gratitude is required. One only feels comfortable in the circle of one’s own family and adult children have to come to family parties to not disappoint mum. If expectations are not fulfilled, reproaches hail down and one sinks into self-pity.

“How can you do this to me, after all I have done for you!”. One imagines illnesses to bind other people to oneself, refuses therapy because one does not want to lose one’s leverage. In fact, this state of mind is often based on a loveless childhood of one’s own and one is always looking for recognition and self-affirmation.
