The duration
Depending on the cause of the cough, the duration and prognosis vary greatly. In the case of a drug side effect, the cough can disappear when the drug is discontinued. A classic cold usually lasts about two weeks.
Pneumonia can last much longer and can also be dangerous for weakened persons. COPD, asthma and cardiac insufficiency are chronic diseases for which only the symptoms can be alleviated.
