The duration of abdominal pain and headaches
As symptoms of a harmless gastrointestinal infection, the abdominal pain and headaches should disappear on their own after a few days. If this is not the case, you should have a doctor examine whether there is possibly another cause behind it. If psychological strain and stress are responsible for the combination of abdominal pain and headaches, the symptoms will continue until the emotional stress subsides.
Depending on the cause, this can take a long time and may last several months. If a malignant disease is the cause of the complaints, they will continue until the underlying disease is treated.
