The duration
After a sunburn, the skin needs a certain time to regenerate. Depending on how badly the skin is damaged by the sunburn, the healing time can vary: Usually it takes from a few days to a week for a complete regeneration to take place. This time depends on the severity of the sunburn and the skin type as well as the child’s existing tan.
