The duration | Vertigo without findings

The duration

The duration of the vertigo without findings is particularly difficult to estimate. The fact that no exact findings are known means that the cause of the vertigo cannot be determined, which is why a statement about the prognosis can only be made very imprecisely. A vertigo whose cause is known tends to last less long than a vertigo of unknown cause.

This is due to the fact that the types of vertigo with a known cause can be treated much more specifically. However, even in the case of vertigo without a diagnosis, the symptoms of many of the affected patients subside after a few days or weeks. Occasionally they reappear after a certain time. Often, however, it is also a single event.

The course of the disease

Just like the duration and prognosis of the disease, the course of the disease in cases of dizziness is difficult to assess without findings, since the cause of the symptoms is not known. Without the possibility of a causal therapy, it can be assumed that the complaints tend to last longer. However, they usually do not worsen with time. Rather, the dizziness weakens and at the same time the body can get used to the change in the sense of balance.
