The prognosis
In general, it can be said that acute events (inflammation, stroke) have a better chance of partial or complete recovery. On the other hand, chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, autoimmune diseases or long-term alcohol addiction cause lasting consequences. In the case of peripheral nerve lesions, it depends on the degree of damage, but the nerve can grow back about 1-2mm per day.
