The side effect of Pinimenthol® cold bath

Various side effects can occur when using the Pinimenthol® cold bath. In the case of an allergy or intolerance to one of the ingredients of the Pinimenthol® Cold Bath, the body’s defense reaction may occur. This allergic reaction manifests itself in the form of itching, redness and the development of a rash.

If such a side effect occurred in a bath with the same ingredient, further application should be avoided. Furthermore, rapid and deep inhalation of the vapors of the bath may cause an increased irritation of the throat. The irritation may cause bronchial spasm.

Caution should also be taken with small children. In rare cases, the eucalyptus oil also contained in the children’s bath leads to a spasm of the glottis, the epiglottis, due to an irritation of the respiratory tract, which can be associated with respiratory paralysis. However, this side effect occurs only in very few exceptional cases.

A more frequent side effect is the worsening of the condition in the presence of a serious illness, for example with fever. In this case, no Pinimenthol® Cold Bath should be used, since the blood vessels dilate mainly due to the heat. This results in a drop in blood pressure and an additional strain on the circulation.

When should a Pinimenthol® cold bath not be taken?

In some cases a Pinimenthol® cold bath may not be performed. These are mostly already existing illnesses, which are a contraindication for the cold bath. If diseases affecting the respiratory tract are known, such as asthma or whooping cough, Pinimenthol® Cold Bath must not be used.

Baths should also be avoided in the case of other infectious diseases that have a severe course and are accompanied by fever, as they place an additional burden on the circulation. In addition, diseases such as cardiac insufficiency or high blood pressure are in some cases contraindications to a full-body bath. If such an illness is present, a doctor should always be consulted. Furthermore, the bath must not be performed for some existing skin diseases. These are for example large open injuries or rashes. This should be avoided, especially if you are allergic to the ingredients of the Pinimenthol® cold bath.
