The term performance

With the achievement a mentally anticipated event is to be realized consciously, which is determined by a value system of the society. Thus in the process of the achievement in the apron a request for achievement exists. One differentiates thereby in: Criteria of the achievement: In the special measure one connects achievement with effort.

Thus the objectively same achievement can lead to differences in the subjective achievement. The dimensions of the achievement are indicated either in rankings or measures.

Technical terminology/training lexicon

  • Lack of strength: In practice: difference between isometric (holding) work and eccentric (yielding) workIn theory: difference between absolute force and isometric maximum force
  • Training age: the period of time since the beginning of the training. (e.g.I have been training for 3 years)
  • Type of training: conditional, coordinative (technical), tactical (e.g. what is being trained today? )
  • Training stress: Effect of training stress on the organism (at what intensity was training performed?

    Attention! Quantitatively equal load leads to interpersonal differences)

  • Training load: The total of training stimuli acting on an athlete (quantity of training)
  • Training duration: Time required for the training stimulus or stimulus series (e.g. 30 min. running)
  • Training unit: Smallest self-contained unit of training load
  • Training frequency: Number of training units in one training session (number of training units per week/per day)
  • Training content: Type of training depending on the training goal (e.g. strength training with the goal of building muscle)
  • Training intensity: Level of training intensity of the training within the training unit. (e.g. bench press with 80% of the maximum force)
  • Training method: Scheduled procedure to achieve the training goals characterized by frequency, intensity, length of breaks, and scope.
  • Training principle: Principles of sports training/training rules.
