The therapy options for a taste disorder

The treatment options for a taste disorder are limited. For this reason, the cause of the taste disorder should be searched for carefully and then its therapy should be sought or, if possible, the medication causing it should be discontinued or replaced. In order to get to the bottom of the cause, it is therefore advisable to consult an ENT specialist or neurologist.

Difficult with regard to therapy are primarily the qualitative taste disorders. No suitable therapy can be found to counteract these. The only positive aspect is the spontaneous regression in a large number of cases after about 10 months. In the meantime, there are also studies that have shown an improvement of symptoms by taking zinc.
