Therapy for eczema on the glans

The duration of an eczema on the glans depends strongly on the cause. If it is caused by poor or excessive hygiene, it should disappear shortly after the change in hygiene routine. Similarly, mechanical irritation or an allergic reaction can cause eczema. If the eczema is caused by pathogens, healing may be delayed and may not be manageable without appropriate therapy, e.g. antibiotics or fungicides. If the eczema is a precursor of cancer, a decrease can only be expected after appropriate therapy.

Prognosis

While there is a possible improvement during puberty in atopic eczema, there is currently no definitive cure for seborrheic eczema. The goal here is to achieve the longest possible freedom from symptoms. In any case, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist, as he or she can also achieve a decisive alleviation of symptoms with non-drug methods such as phototherapy.
