Therapy

The treatment of a “heart sting” during inhalation depends on the underlying cause. Since different diseases or circumstances lead to a heart stinging during inhalation, there is of course no uniform therapy. In the following section, the most important causes regarding their therapy will be briefly explained: 1. coronary artery disease/angina pectoris: The therapy of coronary artery disease comprises many different components. Nitrates and so-called calcium antagonists or beta-blockers are prescribed to alleviate the symptoms and the stabbing of the heart.

If an artery is blocked or even a heart attack occurs, a stent is inserted into the affected vessel of the heart, usually via the groin, using a catheter so that the vessel is opened. 2. muscular tension: Muscular tension of the back or chest muscles can be relieved by massage or physiotherapy. Breathing exercises can help to make optimal use of the respiratory muscles and improve heart stabbing. 3. stress/strain/”psychogenic heart stabbing”: The treatment of a “heart stabbing” caused by stress or other psychological strain usually includes relaxation techniques and approaches to stress management. However, the therapy is very individual and is adapted to the needs of the person affected.

How long does the heart sting last when inhaled?

The duration of a “heart sting” when inhaled varies greatly. Usually the symptoms last only a few minutes or even a few seconds. This depends on the underlying cause.

Angina pectoris attacks usually last between 10 and 20 minutes, but if treated with nitroglycerin they subside after a short time. The length of time over which the symptoms persist depends on whether and how successful treatment is carried out. For this reason, it is not possible to make any general statements about the duration. “Heart stabbing” for psychological causes or in stressful situations can be brought under control, for example, through relaxation techniques, so that the symptoms occur only rarely or at some point no longer at all.
