Therapy of the tachycardia

Tachycardia is treated depending on the underlying cause. So-called antiarrhythmic drugs are available for drug therapy, which influence the electrical potential in the heart muscle cells and thus prevent cardiac arrhythmia. Depending on the type of tachycardia, catheter ablation, external cardioversion (for atrial fibrillation) or the preventive implantation of a defibrillator system is possible. These defibrillators, or ICDs for short, can stop the tachycardia by delivering an electric shock in the case of dangerous tachycardia. If the tachycardia is a symptom of another disease, this is of course treated: In the case of hyperthyroidism, the thyroid gland is treated, in the case of pulmonary embolism the thrombus is removed, etc.

Preventing heart palpitations

The causes of tachycardia are manifold and not always attributable to a clear physical trigger. Unless there is an organ-specific disease, stress-related cardiac arrhythmias in particular can be prevented by a healthy lifestyle. Besides a balanced diet with a low sugar content and little animal fat, sufficient exercise and low alcohol consumption as well as abstaining from nicotine play an important role. Relaxation techniques, such as autogenic training, have a regulating effect on the function of our circulatory system. Instructive and at the same time calming words put the practitioner into a sleep-like state, in which the blood circulation increases and the heart rate decreases.Regular exercise intervals counteract the often anxiety and stress-related cardiac arrhythmia.

Homeopathy for tachycardia

Since fear or great stress are often the cause of palpitations, the homeopathic remedy Aconitum napellus is very effective. Aconitum napellus is the blue monkshood, which is very common in our latitudes. However, if the plant has not been treated professionally, everything about it is highly toxic.

This remedy helps with great anxiety and restlessness. Adonis vernalis is used for heart diseases. It is extracted from the old medicinal plant Adonis vernalis.

The typical potencies here are D2 to D12. Argentum metallicum is also often used for anxiety states. The typical potencies of this medicine are from D6 to D12.

It is mainly used for people who are driven and nervous. In contrast to Aconitum napellus it is used for mild anxiety. Aconitum napellus can also be given for severe anxiety and shock.

In addition, the agents Argentium nitricum and Ammonium carbonicum also help. The former is also used for anxiety. This can be for example a certain expectation anxiety or stage fright.

The second one is taken if you suffer from circulatory problems. In addition to homeopathic remedies, there are also some herbal medicines in naturopathy which have a calming effect on the patient. However, they are mainly used when the person concerned suffers from tachycardia, which is psychologically caused.

In the highest place is the passion flower (Passiflora incarnata). It can be administered in drop form or in tablet form. You can buy it in all pharmacies.

It relieves anxiety and inner restlessness. It can also be taken in case of insomnia. But patience is required, because herbal medicines do not work immediately, but if you have enough lead time, many patients can see an improvement.

Lavender also has a calming effect. It is often used in aromatherapy and thus relieves tension and anxiety. Lavender oil can be bought in pharmacies, drugstores and health food stores.

Lemon balm, on the other hand, is often taken when nervousness causes problems falling asleep. Also magnolia officinalis and phellodendron have a positive effect on people who suffer from an anxiety disorder.
