Therapy

Depending on the underlying cause, an effective therapy is chosen. Antibiotics, virustatics and antifungals are used to treat infections. If a drug is rash, the medication should be discontinued immediately and noted down to avoid taking it again inadvertently at a later date.

In the case of allergic rashes one tries to find the triggering allergen. This is often not successful, so that only anti-allergic medication is administered to treat the symptoms. Acne is treated with consistent skin hygiene, cosmetic cleansing and possibly with creams containing antibiotics. In the case of skin tumors, the type and progress of the cancer determines whether surgery is performed, irradiation is administered or medication is used.
