Therapy | Toothache when chewing

Therapy

Depending on the cause, a different treatment should be aimed at. If pain symptoms occur, however, a dentist should be consulted in any case, or in case of an inflammation in the head area, an ENT specialist or general practitioner. If the cause is of dental nature, the dentist can treat the caries, renew the filling, grind the crown or rework the total prosthesis to ensure a correct bite on healthy teeth.

Painkillers, such as ibuprofen or paracetamol, can be used until the treatment is complete to relieve the pain. Common household remedies, such as cooling, oil of cloves, rinsing with camomile tea or a disinfecting mouth rinse, as well as savoy cabbage leaves can also be used as means of relief. However, even in this case the cause is not fought, but only the symptoms are alleviated.
