Therapy with homeopathy | Cardiac arrhythmia due to stress

Therapy with homeopathy

If cardiac arrhythmias are caused by stress, there are some naturopathic procedures that can reduce both the stress and the occurrence of cardiac arrhythmias. For relaxation and strengthening of the cardiovascular system, relaxing baths and lavender or spruce oil rubs are suitable. Homeopathic remedies should never be taken on your own in case of heart complaints, but only in consultation with a doctor.

For example, Aconitum napellus (blue wolfsbane), a homeopathic remedy available only on prescription, is used to treat cardiac arrhythmia caused by stress. Crataegus or Digitalis purpurea are also used as homeopathic remedies. But also Schüssler salts and remedies from herbal medicine are used, especially against stress.

Medicinal plants such as passion flower, St. John’s wort, balm, valerian or hops have a stress-reducing effect. The choice of homeopathic remedies also depends on the type and cause of the cardiac arrhythmia, for example Ignatia is suitable for states of excitement. However, homeopathic treatment is only recommended in harmless cases of cardiac dysrhythmia caused by stress.

An organic disease of the heart should definitely be excluded by a cardiologist. If there is an organic disease of the heart, appropriate therapeutic measures such as medication or possibly the implantation of a defibrillator must be taken. In such a case, homeopathic treatment should only be continued in consultation with the physician.

May I drink alcohol if I have cardiac arrhythmia due to stress?

This combination is absolutely not recommended.Nevertheless, this decision is of course at the discretion of the person concerned. However, it is true that alcohol itself can lead to cardiac dysrhythmia or lead to the amplification of already existing dysrhythmia. According to a study of Oktoberfest visitors, intensive alcohol consumption led to up to a quarter of the cardiac arrhythmias examined. The intake of alcohol thus potentiates the danger of cardiac arrhythmias already caused by stress.

What are extrasystoles?

Extrasystoles are electrical excitations of the heart that are outside the normal heart rhythm of a person. While there is normally an almost constant time between each heartbeat and the underlying electrical excitation of the heart, extrasystoles occur outside the normal time interval. They may cause the next heartbeat to shift backwards or they may not affect the actual heart rhythm. Extrasystoles can be caused by both heart disease and electrical excitation of the heart.
