Thoracic Spine Syndrome

Thoracic spine syndrome – colloquially called thoracic spine syndrome – (ICD-10-GM M54.6: Thoracic spine pain) refers to complaints or pain conditions that originate in or affect the thoracic spine.

The thoracic spine is the section between the cervical and lumbar spine (cervical spine, lumbar spine) and consists of 12 vertebrae in humans. Compared to complaints in the cervical and lumbar spine, complaints in the thoracic spine occur less frequently.

Course and prognosis: The thoracic spine syndrome tends to “settle” and radiate into the arms and head. Sufferers are severely limited in their daily activities by the pain. Course and prognosis depend on the cause.
