Three-month syringe
The three-month injection contains a progestin which, as the name suggests, is injected into the muscle on the buttocks or upper arm every three months. The effect corresponds to that of the pill. Due to the altered hormone balance, ovulation is not triggered.
The disadvantage is the relatively high hormone dose. The Pearl index is 0.3-0.8.
