Ticlopidine is out of commerce in many countries because of its adverse effects (thrombocytopenic purpura, blood count disorders). Ticlid film-coated tablets are no longer available.
Structure and properties
Ticlopidine (C14H14ClNS, Mr = 263.8 g/mol) is a thienopyridine that is structurally closely related to clopidogrel.
Effects

Indications
Thromboembolism prophylaxis in cases of intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid.
