Tiredness and jet lag

Tiredness is also often caused by so-called jet lag. During long-haul flights and the resulting time change in the destination country, the “inner clock” of the person gets confused. Thus, tiredness can occur during the day and in the evening or at night, the person affected can still not sleep. Usually, however, it only takes a few days for the body to adjust to the new time zone and to restore the body’s usual rhythm.

Coffee, caffeine tablets, and energy drinks can temporarily eliminate fatigue. However, this short energy boost comes at the expense of a number of side effects, which mainly affect the gastrointestinal tract and the cardiovascular system. The above-mentioned stimulants can provide short-term relief from fatigue, but long-term excessive consumption should be avoided.
