Structure and properties

Tolmetin (C₁₅H₁₅NO₃, M_r = 257.3 g/mol) is a pyrrole and acetic acid derivative. It is present in drugs as tolmetin sodium, which is water soluble.

Effects

Tolmetin (ATC M01AB03) has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. The effects are due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

For the treatment of conditions associated with pain and inflammation.
