Tracheitis: Medical History

Medical history (history of illness) is an important component in the diagnosis of tracheitis (inflammation of the trachea).

Family history

  • What is the general health of your family members?
  • Are there any diseases in your family that are common?

Social history

  • What is your profession?
  • Are you exposed to harmful working substances in your profession?

Current medical history/systemic medical history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • What symptoms have you noticed?
  • How long has the symptomatology existed?
  • Have you noticed coughing and/or hoarseness?
  • Do you have pain when inhaling/burning sensation behind the sternum?
  • Do you have a fever? What is the temperature? If so, how long has the temperature been?
  • Do you feel fatigued, sick?
