Traumeel S Tablets

Introduction

Traumeel® S is a homeopathic combination remedy which is distributed by the company “Heel” in the form of tablets, drops and ointments. The different preparations contain the same active ingredients. Traumeel is used especially for bruises and inflammations and contains 14 different active ingredients. Among others, camomile, comfrey and arnica belong to this group. As with all homeopathic remedies, the active ingredients are diluted, so that only traces of them remain in the finished remedy.

Application

Traumeel S tablets can be used for many symptoms. For injuries in the sense of bruises, sprains and bruises it is one of the most frequently used homeopathic remedies in Germany. In addition, Traumeel is often used for inflammation of bursae or tendon sheaths such as tennis and golfers’ arms, joint effusions or arthritis pain.

Some active ingredients are said to have a hemostatic and healing effect, which is why Traumeel is occasionally used for fresh injuries to stop bleeding more quickly and promote healing. In addition, it is used for pain relief in inflammation of the mucous membranes and to strengthen the immune system in people with common infections. It should be noted that, as with almost all homeopathic medicines, there is little or no evidence of the efficacy of Traumeel. In several studies, for example, it has been shown to be unsuitable as a painkiller for inflammation of the mucous membranes. The experience with Traumeel S tablets for sprains and bruises is also split in two: While some people report a clear effect, others complain about the ineffectiveness of the drug
