Introduction
Traumeel® is a homeopathic medicine containing a combination of 14 naturally occurring active ingredients. It is used for sprains, dislocations, contusions and bruises. Traumeel can also be used for overloading tendons, ligaments or muscles. Various forms of application are available for this. In addition to tablets and drops, creams and gels are also on the market, with which the affected areas can be rubbed in a thin layer.
Indications
The homeopathic remedy Traumeel® is suitable for various acute injuries that often occur during sports activities. Besides sprains, dislocations and contusions, bruises can also be treated with Traumeel®. In addition, the targeted treatment with Traumeel® is also effective when tendons, ligaments or muscles are overloaded.
In severe forms of the above-mentioned injuries and diseases, further clinical and drug treatment is usually required. If there is no improvement after a few days, the patient should always consult a physician to clarify the further procedure. There is insufficient data for the use of Traumeel® in children under 2 years of age. Therefore, the use of Traumeel® in infants and toddlers should be avoided. Likewise, the use of Traumeel® should be avoided in the case of systemic diseases and if so, only in consultation with the treating physician.
Traumeel® S Tablets
The products of Traumeel® are offered in different application forms. Among other things, Traumeel® is available in the form of tablets. According to the manufacturer, the combination of active ingredients is supposed to unfold its effect from within.
Both 50 and 250 packs are available on the market. The tablets should be taken 3 times a day to treat injuries. The tablets should be taken before meals.
The tablets should be allowed to pass slowly in the mouth. In case of acute complaints the dose can be increased if necessary. It is possible to take up to 8 tablets a day.
In children and adolescents, the dosage must be adjusted according to the information in the package insert. The duration of therapy with Traumeel® S tablets should not exceed 8 weeks without medical advice. If there is no improvement in symptoms, a doctor should be consulted in any case. Possible side effects that may occur during therapy are increased salivation and possible allergic or intolerance reactions to the ingredients.
