Treatment

In most cases, a burning palate does not require treatment, as the sensation should disappear after a few days. A mucous membrane irritated by a cold, burn or allergy needs time to heal. During this time it can help the body to heal and regenerate.

Homeopathic or household remedies can be used for this purpose (see below). In addition, the cause of the irritation should be eliminated or at least treated. Allergic complaints can be treated with appropriate medication, for example.

If the cause is an inflammation, however, medication may be necessary or may become necessary. The family doctor or ear, nose and throat specialist should be consulted about this. If it is an inflammatory change, an improvement of the symptoms can be attempted with mouthwash to disinfect the affected area and thus achieve faster healing.

In order to relieve the acute pain and the burning sensation, some home remedies can also be tried. It is best to bring substances to the burning spot that have a calming effect on the mucous membrane or have a healing supporting effect. This could be a lukewarm chamomile tea, for example.

The ingredients of chamomile support good wound healing. The temperature should be neither too hot nor too cold in order not to cause additional, so-called thermal stress. For this reason, ice cubes or ice cream should also be handled very carefully.

However, if the affected person experiences relief from the burning sensation, this can actually also be a good household remedy. If one would like to relieve the burning sensation on the palate, one can also try treatment with homeopathic remedies. As always, however, for a therapy with homeopathy one must analyze the appearance of the disease to be treated as well as the accompanying symptoms in order to apply the right remedy.

Nevertheless, a remedy frequently used for complaints of the mucous membrane should be mentioned here: Bryonia is supposed to help with injuries and complaints of the inner skins and surfaces, thus also the mucous membrane of the mouth area. For dosage, low potencies such as D6 should be chosen first, especially if the remedy is used independently. It is taken until the complaints have subsided. If there is no improvement after one week at the latest, an alternative practitioner or doctor should be consulted.
