Treatment | Skin rash due to heat

Treatment

The treatment for a skin rash caused by heat is primarily causal. The affected skin area should be sufficiently ventilated so that sweat can evaporate and the heat does not accumulate under clothing. In addition, cooling of the skin area can provide relief for the burning and itching.

If the skin rash is very pronounced due to heat, locally applied ointments can be used. Creams containing cortisone can reduce the inflammation of the sweat glands and heal the rash. Antihistamines in tablet form can also be used.

Since the cause is often sweat on the skin surface, the skin area can be kept additionally dry by zinc oxide shaking mixtures until the rash subsides. Under no circumstances should moisturizers be used when treating the skin yourself with household remedies. These promote the rash in this case and work contrary to zinc oxide shaking mixtures.

Baby rash due to heat

Babies are susceptible to skin rashes due to the permanent position on the back and the often very warm clothes and blankets. Under the many layers of clothing and also under the diaper the heat accumulates and leads to heat spots on the sensitive skin of newborns. Here it is important to make sure that the baby’s skin is left out in the air as often as possible. With babies, care must also be taken to avoid scratching the itchy papules, so that there is no further risk of infection of the skin.

Localized skin rash due to heat

The skin of the face is more sensitive than many other skin areas. Especially in summer, when it is very hot and sweaty, but also when there is high humidity in the surrounding air, heat spots can quickly appear on the face. Here too, the best therapy is to ensure a dry environment for the facial skin.

For many people, the palms of the hands are always moist, especially in summer and in high temperatures. Stress, nervousness and tension also lead to moist palms. If a skin rash develops here due to heat, powders or dry cloths are recommended to dry the hands in between.

You should also pay more attention to keeping your hands out of trouser pockets or under gloves in winter. Temperatures increase and performance decreases? Many employees ask themselves what their rights are in this situation.
