Troxerutin was commercially available in the form of film-coated tablets and capsules. It had been approved in many countries since 1977.

Structure and properties

Troxerutin (C33H42O19, Mr = 742.7 g/mol) or trihydroxyethylrutoside is a flavonoid.

Effects

Troxerutin (ATC C05CA04) stabilizes the permeable vascular walls of blood capillaries.

Indications

  • Chronic venous insufficiency
  • Varicose early symptoms
  • Varicose syndrome and varicose complications

Dosage

According to the professional information. The drugs are taken one to three times a day before or with meals.
