Tuina Massage

Tuina massage (Chinese tui = push, press; na = grasp, pull) is one of the five basic pillars of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is fundamentally different from what we understand by the term massage.

It is based on the basic principles of the meridians as well as on the guiding criterion of Yin and Yang, as is the case with Chinese acupuncture.

Tuina massage is used to restore the flow of Qi and to rebalance Yin and Yang, as disturbances of these delicate systems cause disease.

Instead of stimulating the acupuncture points with needles, various manual techniques are used.

The procedure

Tuina is essentially based on the massage technique AnMo, pressing (An) and stroking (Mo); further include rubbing, pushing, kneading, pinching, pinching or tapping. Depending on the desired effect, the intensity of the touch is varied.Tuina massage includes many different grip techniques.

One distinguishes the punctual Tuina massage from the large-area technique. The punctual treatment is used in western countries as so-called “acupressure“.

With the joint mobilization and the stretching of the musculature the massage contributes a large part to the health maintenance of the musculoskeletal system, which causes so many humans in the today’s time with back pain, joint pain and shortened muscles problems.pain can be soothed and body functions are stimulated and activated.the blood circulation is stimulated, so that the body is supplied again with sufficiently oxygen and important nutrients. Only when the body and the organs have enough oxygen and nutrients available, they can work optimally and we feel well and healthy. Likewise, improved blood circulation accelerates wound healing.

It contributes greatly to the restoration or maintenance of health and can be applied to people of all ages, as it is completely free of side effects. The practitioner can either work selectively and treat specific muscles, joints or organs, or the technique is applied to increase blood circulation, activate the immune system and thus maintain health and well-being.
